Apple’s new iPhone 9 gets delayed (Report)

All eyes are on Apple’s new upcoming iPhones which are expected to release this fall. Unfortunately, reports are coming from the production line that one of them may not release on time.

Along with Apple’s two new upcoming iPhones which are believed to be sized at 5.8 and 6.5 inches, the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to launch an entry-level 6.1-inch model which will have an LCD screen and a single rear camera.

The Japanese blog site, Macotakara, reports that it is Apple’s 6.1-inch iPhone that is expected to face shipping delays. The reason behind that the supplier Japan Display is facing low yields in manufacturing the LCD panels for this iPhone.

The report might sound surprising to those who are familiar with the last year’s iPhone X delays. The dilemma this time is that the Apple’s LCD supplier, Japan Display is getting hard times in producing the LCD panels for 6.1-inch iPhone or iPhone 9. These LCD panels are believed to feature a slimmer border.

Macotakara in its report claimed that Japan Display is behind in meeting the required yields for the launch of 6.1-inch iPhone. So the launch may get delayed until November. But the good news is that the other two iPhones are expected to release on their target date in October this year.

If we do a comparison between OLED screens and LCD screens, the later may be cheaper but it is also more difficult to shape. This explains the reason why the 6.1-inch iPhone looks little different from the borders as compare to the other two iPhone X successors. In rumored pictures, the border of 6.1-inch iPhone looks thicker than other two iPhone.

As far as delays are concerned, this is not the first time we have heard about this. Many news already speculating around the Apple’s new 2018 iPhones. An analyst from Morgan Stanley already stated about this a few days ago that the 6.1-inch iPhone which is also the cheapest iPhone from Apple is expected to show up a month late to market. In 2017, Apple had the same delay issue with its iPhones. So there are huge chances present that a similar story will play out this fall as well.

As we are getting closer to the date when Apple reveals everything about its new iPhones, we suggest, keep visiting us for the latest developments in this regards.
