There are a lot of ways through which the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus resemble their predecessors: iPhone 5S and 5C. However, there are three little-known features the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have, that are better than iPhone 5S and 5C. These interesting features also available on iPhone 7 series, iPhone 8 series and iPhone X. Let’s take a look into these features.

How to Use Reachability and Display Zoom on iPhone

Display Zoom (iPhone 6 and up)

Every iPhone model launched, after the iPhone 6 series, has bigger screens. The iPhone 6, 7, and 8 has 4.7-inch screen while the Plus versions of these models have 5.5-inches screens. The earlier iPhones had 4-inch screens. Thanks to Display Zoom feature, we can take advantage of larger screen iPhones in two ways: to show more content or to make the content bigger. Because the screen size of iPhone 6 Plus, 7 Plus and 8 Plus is 1.5-inches bigger than the screen of iPhone 5C. This extra space can show more words on the screen for your ease. Display Zoom is a feature which lets you choose between Zoomed view and Standard view of your Home Screen.

This feature also helps those who have poor eyesight and can’t use the mobile phone properly. They need bigger onscreen elements to use a mobile phone. Display Zoom helps them to enlarge the text, icons, images and other elements on the screen to make them easier to use.

Setting Display Zoom is not that difficult. Follow these steps.

Tap the Settings app > Tap Display & Brightness > Tap View in the Display Zoom section.

On the screen, tap to standard or zoomed to preview the options. Choose your selection. Tap Set to confirm your choice.

Note that Display Zoom feature is not available on the iPhone X.

Reachability (iPhone 6 and up, plus iPhone X)

The large screens are great for a lot of things. But having a bigger screen phone has one downside as well. And that is the ease of using the mobile phone with one hand only. Small screen iPhones don’t have such issues. On the smaller screen, using one hand and reaching out the farthest icon with your thumb is possible.

Dealing with the issue, Apple has launched a feature called Reachability. The feature moves the text or screen element from top to middle of the screen to make it easier to reach. Here is how you can use it.

iPhone compatibility: 6 series, 7 series and 8 series.

When you want to tap on anything high on the screen, just double-tap the Home Button. Remember you have to double-tab the button not press it. Double-tapping the button will bring up the multitasking screen, from here you can switch between the apps. Tap the home button. The screen contents will movie down to the centre of the screen. Tap the item you want.

The Reachability feature is available for iPhone X, too. But as this model doesn’t have the Home Button, so you access it little differently.
