As per the rumours, tech giant Apple is in the plans to release three new iPhones in 2018, including one super-size iPhone, one less expensive iPhone and one with three rear cameras.
The Apple is planning to introduce three iPhone models. The company is expected to release these three models later this year. The iPhone X may be included in the squad of these iPhones. As far as pricing is concerned, Apple hasn’t faced a major obstacle in selling the premium flagship iPhones so far. Even the iPhone X, which is considered as the priciest iPhone ever, was the best-selling phone for the first three months of this year followed by iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
We are expecting that Apple is likely to deliver some great enhancements to its new upcoming iPhone line-up including new iPhone colours, new build materials, increase in the processing speeds, greater screen resolutions and modifications to extend battery life.
Android World Continues to React
On the other hand, Android continues its struggle to react and compete with iPhone X and its features. In May at its I/O event, Google with its new Android P operating system showed off a new gesture-based interface. Plus there is Samsung’s own Intelligent Scans features and AR emoji.
OnePlus, LG, Huawei, Asus and others are rumoured to imitate the typical iPhone notch design to their upcoming phones. Although Android is making more advancements in camera technology and other fronts, the million dollar question over here is that will Apple rest on its laurels? Will the company keep its brilliant winning streak alive? We will find out the answer in two months, hopefully.
Likely: September 2018 is the month for iPhone X
Although Apple didn’t confirm the official date for its new iPhone it is expected that we may see the new iPhone X in September this year. (Should we call it Xeptember instead of September?) Most of the previous iPhones were released in September, so it can be expected that September will be the month for iPhone X.
Rumour: The new iPhone may be called as the iPhone 11, iPhone X Plus, or the iPhone X2 — but probably not the iPhone 9
According to some tech experts and analysts, Apple may go back to its ‘S’ series. If it’s true then we may see an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Plus or maybe iPhone X2. Regardless of the names, many experts believe that Apple may have killed its iPhone 9 when the company launched the iPhone X along with iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
What’s the deal with OLED or LCD for the next iPhone X?
There are few sources who believe that in its 2018 iPhone line-up, Apple will comprise minimum one lower cost LCD Screen iPhone but rumours around the globe disagree with this statement.
According to Patently Apple, a famous tech blog, 2018 iPhone may have an LCD. The blog suggested that Apple’s next iPhone X will have an LCD screen, decreasing the price and improvements in the current OLED model. BusinessKorea predicted that new upcoming 6.1 inch iPhone will have a MLCD+ display.
The Wall Street Journal reports that as compared to the OLED model, the less-expensive LCD iPhone may sell faster. Adding more, WSJ said that in the fall season, Apple will come out with two different iPhones, one with OLED and one with the LCD screen. And to get more sales, Apple might produce a higher volume of LCD iPhones.
A famous Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo openly backed this claim from WSJ when he predicted these specs for 2018 iPhones: a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone, a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone Plus and a 6.1-inch affordable LCD iPhone.
As per Jusy Hong, it is expected that all three upcoming iPhones could look similar to the iPhone X.

Rumour: Three Rear Cameras
According to the Chinese language Economic Daily News, One of the new upcoming iPhone models could have a triple-lens rear-facing camera. As per the article, if this speculation is true then this would enhance the rear zoom capacity of the iPhone camera and improve the image quality even clicked in dim light. One thing to note here is that Huawei is already providing a triple-lens rear-facing camera in its P20 Pro model.
Rumour: A bigger iPhone
Bloomberg claims that Apple has made two new big size iPhones. One is iPhone X Plus having a 6.5 inch OLED model and one is 6.1- inch LCD version. There are also rumours that Apple might drop the size of its current iPhone X.
Rumour: A cheaper iPhone
Kou also predicts that Apple may launch one single-SIM version and one dual-SIM version of its 2018 iPhones. Single-Sim version would cost between £390-£460 and dual-SIM model would cost between £460-£530. And to make 6.1-inch model more affordable, Apple might omit some of its costlier components including the OLED display, Face ID, second rear camera and 3D Touch.
Rumour: A pricier iPhone
Investments analysts at UBS have predicted a costlier iPhone. They said that Apple’s 2018 flagship iPhone will cost around £770 ($1100). That’s well over the iPhone X’s starting price. iPhone X starting price was $999.
Rumour: Face ID booms, goes horizontal
Predictions from Ming-Chi Kuo go on, as he predicts that for its new 2018 iPhones, Apple will bring its famous TrueDepth camera feature. Apple might omit the fingerprint sensor from its next iPhone batch by deploying facial recognition technology.
As per the announcement at WWDC later this year, it is rumoured that Apple’s upcoming iPads may also get Face ID feature.
Rumour: Apple support for the Apple Pencil or iPen
According to Rosenblatt Securities, an investment firm, Apple’s new 2018 OLED iPhone will support an ‘iPen’ device. This rumour has been wondering around the news since 2015. So let’s wait and watch for iPhone’s next release.
