The upcoming iPhone 9 rumoured to get a surprise feature
Well, Apple never stops to amaze us. This time the surprise would definitely give a shock to Steve Jobs (if he would be alive).
The latest rumours coming from the Cupertino-based company are indicating that the tech giant is secretly planning to offer ‘STYLUS’ with its new upcoming iPhone 9.
If you are a fan of Steve Jobs and used to listen to his keynote speeches then you must be aware that late Apple CEO and Co-founder hated the Stylus and vowed to never use them.
Is it a Good Idea?
The co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs did not like the iPhone having a stylus. During an iPhone launch event in 2007, Steve Jobs quipped: “Who wants a stylus? You have to get em’, put em’ away. You lose them. Yuck!
“Nobody wants a stylus. So let’s not use a stylus.”
In 2015, Apple did launch one such gadget for its iPads with the name of Apple Pencil.

How come it is going to happen?
The Sun published that, according to China’s Economic Daily News two of the three upcoming iPhones which are expected to launch in September 2018 will support the Apple Pencil.
A similar report from a famous analyst at TrendForce claims that they are expecting to witness Apple’s own Stylus the Apple Pencil to ‘be offered as an option’ for the upcoming iPhones.
However, as far as the functionality of the Apple Pencil is concerned, it is still not clear that the current Apple Pencil would work with the iPhones or a different version would be created.
It is to note here that Apple’s rival Samsung is already offering its own made S-Pen Stylus with its Galaxy Note series. Although previous iPhones do work with some third-party styluses, the company, in the past, has never offered its own version. And the reason is obvious. Steve Jobs hated to use Stylus for iPhones till his death. He was the major opponent of styluses.
A biography of Steve Jobs also quotes the tech genius saying ‘God gave us 10 styluses. Let’s not invent another.’ He was saying about the human fingers.
But after his death, Apple used Stylus for its iPads in 2015.
Apple’s Stylus is mainly aimed at creative types. With its angle detection, the iPad has no trouble in guessing whether you are trying to do some soft shading or trying to draw a hard line. Apple’s Stylus is a kind of powered gadget which connects itself to your device over Bluetooth.
Apple is expected to launch its three new upcoming iPhone this September. The dates are likely to be 12 or 13.
With the rumoured reports, we may see a small price cut for the upcoming iPhones.
